Questions.
The things people message to ask. Ordering is on this site: choose from this week's menu and pay by card at the checkout.
When do you deliver?
TruePlate delivers in Liverpool on Sunday and Wednesday, from one weekly order that closes on Thursday before any of it is cooked.
The day the menu itself goes up each week is not settled yet, so it is not printed here. Put your name down and it comes to you by email before it goes public, and that is the part that decides whether you get a box.
Why are there two delivery days?
TruePlate cooks each week in two batches so every meal reaches you close to the day it was cooked: the Sunday dishes are cooked on Friday and Saturday and arrive on Sunday, and the Wednesday dishes are cooked on Monday and Tuesday and arrive on Wednesday.
The day a meal arrives follows the dish. Each dish on the menu belongs to one of those days, so your order arrives once if all your dishes come from the same day, or on each of the days you picked from.
It is still one order and one payment, and the box size counts every meal in it whichever day it arrives. Delivery is £3.00, charged once for the order however many days it comes.
Where do you deliver?
TruePlate delivers across Liverpool, Bootle, Crosby, Formby, Ormskirk and Southport: L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L7, L8, L9, L10, L11, L12, L13, L14, L15, L16, L17, L18, L19, L20, L21, L22, L23, L24, L25, L26, L27, L28, L29, L30, L31, L32, L33, L34, L35, L36, L37, L38, L39, L40, PR8, PR9 and WN8.
Your postcode tells us whether we deliver to you, which is why the form asks for it rather than asking which part of the city you live in.
If we do not reach your street yet we say so, and we still take your name. Which districts keep turning up on the list is how the next area gets picked, so being on it is the argument for yours.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
TruePlate collection is from the kitchen at 36a Chapel Lane, Formby, Liverpool L37 4DU, on the same day your dishes would have been delivered, and there is no delivery charge.
Choose collection at the checkout instead of delivery. If your order has dishes from more than one day, each lot is ready on its own day.
Collection is between 9am and 4pm on the day your order is ready.
How do I order?
TruePlate takes orders on this site: choose your dishes from this week's menu, from any delivery day, and pay by card at the checkout before orders close on Thursday.
Putting your name down still gets you the menu before it goes public, so you are not finding out about the week at the same moment as everybody else.
This week's menuHow much is it?
TruePlate charges £9.00 a meal below 12 meals, and £8.50 a meal from 12.
A box is any number from 5 to 24 meals, counted across the whole order whichever day each meal arrives. Delivery is £3.00, charged once for the order however many days it comes.
How do I pay?
TruePlate takes payment by card at the checkout on this site, for the whole order at once.
Card payments go through Stripe, who take the card details straight from you. TruePlate never holds your card number.
What happens if I miss the Thursday cut off?
A TruePlate week closes on Thursday for every delivery day in it, Sunday and Wednesday, and once that passes the week is finished.
Missing it is usually a matter of hearing too late. The list gets the menu before it is public, so the week reaches you with time in hand rather than on the Thursday itself.
It sells out. What am I supposed to do?
TruePlate cooks a fixed number of boxes each week and they sell out early.
That is the whole reason the list exists: it gets the menu before it goes anywhere near Instagram, so you are choosing rather than racing.
A box held for a payment that never completes goes back on sale, so a week that looked gone sometimes is not. Worth another look.
I have an allergy. What do I need to know?
Every dish on a TruePlate menu lists what it contains and what it may contain, and every box carries a label with the same information on it.
It is on the dish itself rather than buried in a page like this one. Read it before you order, not after.
If anything is unclear, or you need to know more about how a dish is made, message and ask before you order. You will get an answer from Jake rather than a guess from a web page.
How long does it keep, and how do I heat it up?
TruePlate does not publish one set of reheating times or keeping times, because they are different for every dish.
Ask about the week you have got. How long one keeps depends on what is in it, so a single set of numbers printed here would be wrong for half of them.
Can I change or cancel an order?
TruePlate takes changes and cancellations by message. There is nothing on this site that lets you do it yourself yet.
Before the Thursday cut off there is time to change what is in the box or where it goes. After that, ask anyway and we will do what we can, but we are not going to promise something we might not be able to do.
What do you do with my details?
TruePlate stores your name, email, mobile and postcode, and nothing else.
The menu goes to the email, the mobile is for when a slot opens and an email would arrive too late, and the postcode tells us whether we deliver to you. Nothing else, and nobody else.
There is no analytics on this site and no advertising tracking. Nothing follows you off it.
